Nauru music has poor history and records, partially as the result of the traditional dance by German colonial powers after the 1888 capture by Germany.

The Nauru national anthem is known as Nauru Bwirma which means song of Nauru and it was written by Margaret Hendrie and Laurence Henry Hicks composed the music. The anthem of Nauru was adopted in 1968.
Baron Waga who served as the minister has also been noted for his musical composition event.
