In the early day of the rock and beat, some of the Danish artist quickly takes this new type of music with success. Bands such as Peter og Ulvene, Sir Henry and his Butlers, the Beefeaters and later on Steppeulvene (the steppenwolves), Alrune Rod and Savage Rose were among the renown bands in Denmark throughout the 1960s and the early 1970. Still, the Danish rock and pop music in those days are similar more of German schlager than that of the American or British rock.

The Danish rock scene arrived in the 1970s when the groups drew on the problems in the United States and Britain, Many sees their style to be the Danish though it seems mainly to be due to the language of the songs and the way they fit into the national agenda.
