The current Egyptian music trace its origin to the creative work of luminaries such as Abdul Hamuli, Almaz and Mahud Osman, who all got their patronage from Khedive Ismail, and who influenced the future work of Sayed Dar wish, Umm Kulthum, Mohammed Adbel Wahab, Abdel Halim Hafez, Zakariyya Ahmad and other Egyptian musicians.
