The loh tarang is a melodic percussion musical instrument. It is made up of set of iron circular plates, of various sizes, held in frame. Each plate of the instrument is pitched to a note and they are struck with sticks on each hand of the player. Literally, tarang means waves. Sounds of the plates depend on the various sizes of plates and movement.
