The music of Canada has shown different powers that have shaped the country. Aboriginals, the British, and the French have all made special contributions to the musical heritage of Canada. The music has then been heavily powered by the American culture because of its closeness and movement between the two countries. Since the French explorer Samuel de Champlain came in 1605 and made the first permanent Canadian settlements at Port Royal and Quebec City in the year 1608, the country has produced its own singers, musicians and bands.
