Bhutan music is an integral part of its tradition and culture that plays a
leading role in conveying the social values, the traditional Bhutanese music include
a spectrum of subgenres that ranges from the folk to the religious songs and
music. Some of the genres of the traditional Bhutanese music are vocals,
instrumentation and the theatre and dance, others are mainly vocal
instrumental. The older traditional genres are different from the modern
well-known music like the rigsar.
