The
music of Belize has a mix of Kriol, Mestizo, Garifuna, and Maya that
influences, after several centuries of the Maya population, the British
colonizers came in the area in the 17th century. The Belize was
Britain’s only colony in Spanish-Dominated Centralc America until the self-government
in the 1964 that then gained their full independence in 1981. The Belize is
still part of the Commonwealth of Nations. Far more influential than this
recent day; however, was the importation of African slaves.
