Mangey or Mungey is a musical instrument that uses a stretched membrane to produce sound percussion of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is made up of clay pot with a thin skin head over the mouth and is arranged with chords. To produce musical sound bass and slap sounds, it is struck with fingers and palm directly. It is always followed by metal vase, played with the other hand to produce the treble sounds.


The mangey player also called the Mangiwal make the rhythmical pattern to accompany the rubab or harmonium players in most instrumental music or vocal epic music.
