The music of Bahrain is main part of the
Persian Gulf folk traditions. It is also called the Kuwait for sawt music, a
bluesy genre which is influence by African, Indian and Persian music. The
Saltan Hamid, Ali Bahar and Khalid al Shaikh are singer and oud player
respective; and they are among the most famous musicians from Bahrain.
Bahrain was the first site of the
Persiann Gulf-based recording studio, which was established after World War 11.
The recent music institution in Bahrain includes the Bahrain music institute,
the Bahrain Orchestra and the classical institute of music, the Bahrain
male-only pearl diving tradition known for the songs named fidjeri.
The Liwa and Fann at Tanbura are the two
kinds of music dance and they aree performed mainly in communities which
contain offspring of East Africans.
